Nächste Gears of War Previews…

Nach gamespot.com gibt es nun auch bei ComputerandVideogames.com (CVG) und TrustedReviews.com ein Preview zur kommenden PC-Version von Epic’s “Xbox 360 – Shooter” Gears of War.

CVG:

It’s the worst kept secret in history; Gears of War is coming to PC, it’s looking slightly prettier and it’s got Microsoft’s controversial Games for Windows Live logo slapped on it. What’s new to us though is how Epic’s gone about serving its “best damn console game we could make” to the mouse and keyboard world, which hasn’t exactly proved to be the best environment for a third-person action game.

TrustedReviews.com:

I wouldn’t like to guess, but regardless Gears of War PC is looking to be an excellent conversion of an already excellent game, which is probably all you need to know. Moreover, with the PC version providing new chapters, more story, another major boss battle in the form of the Brumak, more multiplayer options and an editor, there are still plenty of reasons to consider it, even if you’ve played it on the Xbox 360.

Gears of War Preview (PC)

Gamespot.com hatte auf einem Microsoft Presse Event die Möglichkeit Gears of War auf dem PC zu spielen, herausgekommen ist dabei ein kleines Preview:

The only downside to the PC version of Gears of War, at least based our time with it, is that when playing multiplayer, you can’t assume that everyone on your team has a microphone. None of us were armed with microphones, which resulted in battles that were quite disorganized. Of course, this won’t be a problem for any of you fighting in organized clans and the like, but if you’re playing pick-up games alongside random teammates, you might find that it’s impossible to communicate with each other. Playing alongside or against a number of mouse and keyboard users, we were pleased to find that we had no problem being competitive. For the most part, we notched up some of the more impressive scores during our session. Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not playing with Xbox 360 controllers will still be a viable option after the game ships and all of you mouse and keyboard users become more proficient with the controls.

Gears of War Interviews mit CliffyB

Zur kommenden PC-Version von Gears of War hat CVG ein Interview mit Cliff Bleszinski geführt:

Having played the game on PC, it’s amazing how you get such a feeling of weight and grit into the keyboard and mouse controls…

CliffyB: Yeah. For me it’s like a recipe – all the ingredients coming together to give you a flavour that really works well. For a start, the character looks big and bulky and doesn’t just walk up to cover and stand next to it – he dives like his life counts on it. As it does!
